Metabolic syndrome is a condition of metabolic malfunction. The most effective method to avoid the development of this syndrome is healthy eating patterns and food choices coupled with activity. In this literature overview some of the conditions that occur as a result of metabolic syndrome are outlined. The peer reviewed research suggests that to address metabolic syndrome a nutrient rich diet, adequate sleep and sufficient exercise are necessary.
